Screenshots and text

Transnip recognizes text on your Mac and deletes the temporary screenshot after recognition. Screenshots are not uploaded. Cloud translation sends the selected text to Transnip and MiniMax to produce a translation. Avoid selecting information you do not want to share.

What we store

We do not save your source text or translations on our servers. We use a hashed device identifier to keep your free-trial balance after reinstalling. We do not upload your device serial number. We store license, device, order and usage records to operate the service and prevent duplicate charges. Your Mac temporarily caches recent translations in memory; the cache is cleared when you quit.

Service providers

Cloudflare hosts our website and service. MiniMax processes cloud translations. When purchases open, Waffo will process payments and a transactional email service will deliver licenses. These providers may process information outside your country under their own policies.

Your own accounts

If you connect your own API key or Codex account, text is processed by that provider. API keys and activation credentials are stored in macOS Keychain.

Website and requests

We use browser storage for your language choice and private order receipt, without advertising trackers. Service records are kept while needed to operate your license, resolve purchases and meet applicable obligations. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of your personal information; some records may need to be retained for those obligations.
